When Princess Evangeline was only a child, her father’s most trusted advisor, Zavier, betrayed him by manipulating the city’s peasants to revolt and storm the castle. The girl escaped through a secret tunnel in the courtyard of her castle and was taken far from the kingdom with the help of Arthur, a loyalist and true friend of the king. Arthur raised Eve from that day on and taught her all the necessities to defend herself so that she could one day take back what was rightfully hers.
However, there is more to the Tyrsfell dynasty than what meets the eye. Her family’s shady past is illuminated by an ancient magic that courses through Eve’s veins. With this newfound ability, there is hope that Eve can finally put an end to Zavier’s violent tyranny along with the help from a team of adept companions. The warrior princess journeys to distant lands, encounters epic creatures, and shapes alliances with mysterious cultures all to restore her honor as true queen of Tyrsfell and end the malicious onslaught of Zavier‘s cruel tyranny.
The Lightguardian The Lightguardian Trilogy Book 1 eBook K B Robey
The book actually starts really interesting. I was really enjoying it at least up to first 25% of it. It was finely written and the story seemed to have a potential. Then the story seemed to go down a few bits, the events became simpler - sometimes reminding rather a story for young child, especially when the main character at the time sees the king and will get the support, but has complete a "task" for the king/ruler first. It actually felt like the author got impatient at some point with building up the story and wanted to speed things through, but still it was quite ok to read.
Unfortunately the further towards the end I felt more and more annoyed with what the story became. At some point it almost looked like the author just ran out of ideas, decided to put in some loose points just to make the part 2 trilogy out of something and end quickly.
The story mostly is told from the first person view of one main character, and personally I don't have a problem with that, but at some point the story switches to other character, and then it's told from the first person view of another character. Personally I found this highly annoying the first time (then just annoying). After huge part of book you are familiar with the "I" telling the story, and then suddenly the different "I" appears.
Besides the story itself i found a bit worrying that the first sentence the author writes in acknowledgments the first book of trilogy is:
"This is the book I have managed to finish ... "
Which makes me wonder when if ever the part 2 will see the light.
Overall an interesting story with some potential, with lots of adventure but it felt like it was too rushed, and lacked some more "depth" in many places. As the whole I didn't quite like the book, but would give it 2.5 if it was possible.
As this is first finished book, there is always hope and room for improvement, and although I didn't rate this one highly,
I would probably be wiling to check the next book to see if it get's better or not.

The Lightguardian The Lightguardian Trilogy Book 1 eBook K B Robey Reviews
written by a girl that went to my high school! I am very impressed, and i couldn't stop reading! Can't wait for the sequel!
"This part one of the Lightguardian trilogy is a very entertaining, well-written and well-orchestrated book. Ms. Robey has authored an outstanding collage of characters, suspense, and situations portraying the trials and tribulations in the travels of the Lightguardian. I have already ordered the second part aptly named the `Underrealm', and eagerly await its arrival. I plan to submit a review on it as well. I have no doubt it will continue on with Ms. Robey's great imagination and authoring of the saga of the Lightguardian. Kayla knows how to Rock the SciFi genre."
